Name: Whitney Rodgers
When did you join TCREW and in what ways have you been active: I joined TCREW in 2013. Over the past 6-years I have served on the Marketing, Champion Awards, and Programs Committees. I have co-chaired and later chaired the Programs Committee. I currently serve on the Board of Directors as the Programs liaison.
How has your TCREW membership been impactful in your own personal growth and development: My membership in TCREW has allowed me to add valuable connections to my business network, develop leadership skills, and build friendships within the industry. I’ve made connections that have supported and advised me in my career growth and pursuits.
How do you see TCREW impacting the Triangle: TCREW brings together some of the very best and brightest women in the Raleigh-Durham commercial real estate industry. It serves as a catalyst for valuable relationship formation, ultimately resulting in business opportunities and collaborations. TCREW allows for members of the CRE community to gather together at bi-monthly educational programs and networking events, as well as share in leadership opportunities. It’s really empowering.
How can we, as women in the commercial real estate industry, best make an impact in mentoring the next generation of women in CRE: Growing-up, I never envisioned working in the commercial real estate industry. As I grew-up, I’ve always been interested in learning what made women in the industry pursue CRE as a career and how they got their start. It is important that we highlight the many career avenues available within the commercial real estate industry and encourage the next generation to consider a career in one of the many areas that make up the commercial real estate arena.
