Please meet 2018 CREW Network Scholarship winner, Kennedy McGill.  Kennedy is currently pursuing architecture at North Carolina State University.  TCREW and CREW Network are passionate about providing opportunities for young women, like Kennedy, to pursue a career in the commercial real estate arena.  We are pleased to share Kennedy’s thoughts on her experience as a scholarship recipient and her experience with TCREW.
“This year has been an incredible journey as a TCREW scholarship recipient. Immediately after I received notice that I had received the CREW Network Foundation Scholarship, TCREW reached out to support me throughout my time at NC State. Starting across the country in San Diego at the National Convention, the TCREW leadership team was there to introduce me to business partners and friends. In a moment of traveling to the convention alone, I was greeted by executive business women from my city that valued me as a person, listened to my career goals, and cheered me on the entire weekend.
Since being back in Raleigh, TCREW president, Sharon Crawford, has been an excellent resource and mentor as I make big decisions following graduation. Showing me around her office, introducing me to her team, and paying careful attention to my questions and aspirations in the job search. Sharon has pointed me to the right people and continues to be a great mentor, eager to be a part of the process with me. Another testament to her intentionality in investing in the future of women in real estate is her involvement locally. Recently, a women’s business event was hosted by Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh and Sharon was selected as mentor. Sharon invited me to the event which was an energizing day of “speed dating” connecting and learning from successful business women.
TCREW is investing in the future of commercial real estate through scholarship and mentoring opportunities for students like myself. Thank you TCREW for your support, both financial and mentorship. This year has empowered me in my career goals to invest deeply in my community as I pursue a career in architectural design. Thank you TCREW for developing leaders in our industry!”
